Ok, So now we have Gentoo running on our PS3. Now we can now install extra software, this is done by logging in and opening a terminal window.
From the Root Prompt# you can search for software by name with this command emerge --search package-name-here.
So if we want OpenOffice installed which is a office suite, we would issue this command:
emerge -av openoffice, this will then prompt us to continue with yes or no and it will also display the packages to be installed. This may list other software other then just openoffice which is require for OpenOffice to function. So go have fun!! enjoy your new found PS3 abilities.
